NOTICE OF YOUNG and VULNERABLE PERSONS SAFEGUARDING POLICY – 2015

                           Bowling Club fully accepts it’s legal and moral obligations to exercise its duty of care and to protect all YOUNG PEOPLE (and Adults at Risk) participating in its activities, and to safeguard their welfare.

 We are committed to do this by acknowledging:

     the welfare of the child or adult at risk is paramount

 √    all children and adults at risk, whatever their age, culture, ability, gender, language, racial origin, religious belief and/or sexual identity should be able to participate in bowls in a safe and enjoyable environment

 √     all reasonable steps should be taken to protect children and adults at risk from harm, discrimination and degrading treatment and to respect their rights, wishes and feelings

 √     all suspicions and allegations of poor practice or abuse will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately

 √     the importance of working in partnership with parents and children and adults at risk and their carers or advocates.

 √     the effectiveness of our policy is reviewed annually and a responsible person shall be appointed as:

 SAFEGUARDING WELFARE OFFICER

to whom all members must address any suspicions or concerns

From whom advice and guidance is available

 In an emergency situation where immediate help/advice is required contact should be made with the NSPCC Helpline (0800 800 5000) or ChildLine (0800 1111) both of which can be contacted by anyone to talk through any concerns that have arisen. This call could be made anonymously if considered appropriate.
