Ottery St Mary
Ottery St Mary Bowling Club was founded in 1988 when members used a caravan for the clubhouse. In 1993 the club obtained a 99 year lease of the land at a nominal rent. Thanks to much hard work and fund raising by the early club members the club now has an excellent six / seven rink green, a pavilion and members bar. Spectators have the benefit of a covered seating area in front of the pavilion.
From the green there are pleasant views of the beautiful surrounding Devon countryside and visiting clubs can enjoy the added attraction of a delicious Devon cream tea. Supporters can also enjoy a drink from the bar while watching the game.
We welcome new members of all ages and abilities as well as complete beginners. We have friendly coaches who can show how to play and improve your game.
On Friday evenings from 6.00 p.m. onwards we have free sessions for people to try out the game and we supply all necessary equipment. We ask only that you wear flat soled shoes or trainers to protect the green from damage.
We have facilities for players who have a disability.
We welcome Touring Sides
We have a reputation as a very friendly club and our popularity can be gauged from the number of touring clubs who have returned after previous visits and the many comments received such as “Friendship combined with your excellent facilities made our afternoon at Ottery St Mary both enjoyable and memorable”.
There is ample parking at the Club
