A village club based in Bere Alston which is in the heart of the beautiful Tamar Valley and on the edge of Dartmoor. We strive to create a Club which is available to all regardless of ability, age, creed, colour or gender. The club has three qualified coaches who avail themselves to enable all members to improve their abilities.
All members, regardless of ability, are given equal opportunity to play in competitive matches.
All facilities are available for playing Members to use at their discretion. (Weather permitting)
We are a mixed, friendly community-based Club with playing and social members. We play in local Leagues and take part in County and National Competitions, as well as having a full programme of friendly matches.
The Club has recently adopted an open Membership policy, which means any member of the public can take up Membership by filling out an application form and paying the current subscription.
Every Tuesday night is Club night and the Bar is always open. During the summer the green is occupied by members playing in a small “Club Night” competition. Coaching is also available on request.
During the winter months the Club changes mode and dominoes and cards take priority. Short mat is also played in the Clubhouse with a members league for those who wish to take part. Many members just come in for a drink and a chat.
Social events are combined with fundraising. “Bangers and Mash” nights with live music, quiz nights, short mat competitions, concerts in the Parish Hall, race nights, our annual “Open Competition” and the big Christmas Draw.
There is a large parking area with easy access for coaches.
