On Saturday May 4th at Madeira B.C. the semi-finals and final of the 2018 County Trophy, which were postponed due to bad weather last September, will be held. At 10.00 a.m. the semi-finals featuring Pennycross Sports B.C. against Bideford B.C. and Shaldon B.C. against Culm Vale B.C. will be played, with the final starting at 1.30 p.m.
Also, at the same venue and on the same day, will see the resumption of the semi-finals of the Mixed Pairs which again could not be finished in September. The games will resume from the scores and ends played when the original games had to be stopped. In the first semi-final, Andy Tout (Pennycross Sports B.C.) and Sara Quayle (Plymouth City Bus B.C.) will continue against Muriel Scott and Trevor Newbury (Crediton B.C.) with 11 ends having been played and the score standing at 7-8. In the second semi-final Peter Wade and Rosemary Reed (Bradworthy B.C.) will continue against Stewart and Susan Maddocks (Tiverton B.C.) with 10 ends having been played and the score standing at 13-6. The final will commence at 1.30 p.m.
The other competition outstanding from last season is the Burma Star Mixed Triples, and the final, between Peter Wade (Bradworthy B.C.) and Dominic Tuckett (Cullompton B.C.), will now be held at Topsham B.C. on Saturday May 11th commencing at 1.30 p.m.
