Plymouth Sir Francis Drake B.C. is the latest club in the County to have a defibrillator installed at its premises. The equipment was acquired with funds provided by the Plymouth Round Table, an organisation of young men aged 18-45 which encourages its members to get more involved in the local community. The defibrillator was installed by Heartswell South West, a local heart charity based in Plymouth, who gave a demonstration on the use of the equipment. Hopefully, the kit will not be required, but it does provide assurance for the Club if anything untoward was to happen.
When the Club had the idea of getting the equipment, they thought they would have to fund it themselves, so the money from the Round Table was a very welcome surprise. In the circumstances the Club decided to make a donation of £500 to the Heartswell Charity
