Phear Park
Exmouth is situated in East Devon on the western edge of the worldwide heritage site, the Jurassic Coast. Devon’s bowls heritage goes back centuries, after all, Francis Drake wasn’t playing polo when the Spanish Armada was sighted was he?! Bowling history in Exmouth does not go back that far but a bowls club was opened in Phear Park in 1911 and is the oldest club in Exmouth.
Phear Park Bowling Club is one of a dozen bowling clubs either in, or within a 45 minute drive of Exmouth. An ideal centre for a bowling tour over a weekend or longer.
If your bowls club is thinking of touring Devon why not put Phear Park on your itinerary.
You will be assured of a warm welcome from a club recognised as one of the friendliest in East Devon – and even a cream tea should you request it. Free coaching is available for all new players.
GOOD NEWS
Following enquiries from disabled bowlers Phear Park has now acquired a wheelchair purpose built for use on the green. The club appreciates the financial assistance given by Exmouth Town Council and the Handicapped Bowlers Association which helped make this purchase possible
