At the recent Bowls Devon AGM, the 2024 Presidents were installed with Sandra Andrews (South Molton BC) continuing for a second year as Ladies’ President and Bill Smith (Bitton Park BC) becoming Men’s President. Denise and Keith Clarke (Paignton BC) became Ladies’ Junior Vice-President and Men’s Senior Vice-President respectively. There are two vacancies in the Presidential team which we hope will be filled before the start of next season.
Sharon Parnell (Plymouth City Bus Ladies BC) and Keith Whitting (Bere Alston BC) were awarded the Bowls Devon Order of Merit and the 2023 Bowler of the Year was deservedly won by Nicole Rogers (Kings BC).
Having informed the Executive Committee at their last meeting that she intended to stand down and felt that the position of Bowls Development Officer had run its course, Sue Silcox made the suggestion that this post be renamed as the Youth Development Officer, and this was agreed. Once the duties and responsibilities for this post have been finalised, the post will be advertised. On behalf of Bowls Devon I would like to thank Sue for her hard work over many years as Bowls Development Officer, and these thanks are also extended to Liz Smerdon and Alan Mann who have stood down as Selectors for the Amy Rose and Middleton Cup teams.
