Newton Abbot
The club was founded over 100 years ago in 1911 and is noted for its friendliness to all visitors whether it is new members or visiting touring teams. The club is situated close to the railway station in an enviable position within the grounds of Courtenay Park with its wide open space planted with many shrubs and trees and only a few minutes walk from the town centre.
We can accommodate up to seven rinks and our green has the reputation of being one of the best in the county with an excellent playing surface which is eagerly sought after by the many touring teams staying in the Torquay/Torbay area of the English Riviera.
The club has in excess of 100 members many of whom are highly competitive with regular appearances at both Leamington and Worthing in National finals plus achieving national and county honours. Many of our other members also look forward to the many tourist matches, playing and socialising with our visitors both before and in the club house bar after the game. Our willing volunteers are also well versed in providing lunches and teas where required.
We have an active qualified coaching team for new and improving bowlers.
