COUNTY PRESIDENTS MATCHES

Each year the County Presidents are invited by some Clubs to play a match against the Club on their green. Our match Secretaries, Edgar and Sue, put these games in the County fixture list and a Presidential team made up of officers and invited rinks from Club fulfill the fixture. To be invited to play in a Club rink is an opportunity for the unsung heroes at each Club to be asked to play alongside the County president. The County is very grateful for these invites and is the guest of the Club on the day. A small charge is however made to those playing for the County in these matches which is an important part of the Bowls Devon income helping towards the cost of sending our representative teams to Leamington. Clubs may request an all male match, an all ladies match or a mixed match.

On behalf of the County Carol wrote to Clubs to ask if there were any who would like to host a Presidents’ match in 2019. If so Clubs were asked to contact Carol by the middle of August 2018 so that requests may be considered at a meeting to be held in early September.

The County appreciates these invitations.
