Bowls Devon Officer Vacancies

APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR THE FOLLOWING BOWLS DEVON OFFICERS VACANCIES
Applications should be sent to Administrator Carol by email or post by the end of October 2018. Please include a short CV.
COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR - Please see the job description below (taken from web site Schedule 11)
The County Administrator shall be responsible for day to day
administration and:
(a) Deal with all correspondence.
(b) Provide secretarial duties and support to the Executive
Committee including preparing Agendas, booking venues, taking
Minutes, where appropriate, and to act as a liaison between all
Committees. Delegation to the Minute Secretary at Executive
Committee Meetings shall be normal practice.
(c) Present an Annual Report on the proceedings of Bowls
Devon.
(d) Be responsible for the organisation of all Committee
meetings when appropriate.
(e) Be responsible for the organisation and administration of any
event requested by the Executive Committee.
(f) Manage public relations and press releases for Bowls Devon.
(g) Represent Bowls Devon on Outside Bodies as and when
required.
(h) Be one of the authorised representatives to Bowls England
for Bowls Devon.
(i) Oversee the Bowls Devon Website.
(j) Help with County Competition finals and attend, if required.
(k) Assist the Ladies/Men’s Administrators and Match
Secretaries with the administration and running of matches when
necessary.
(l) Ensure arrangements are made for Umpires when required.
(m) Be responsible for and administer County Membership list.
(n) Issue Tournament Licences.
(o) Be a member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee,
Emergency Committee and the Life Membership Committee.
ASSISTANT TREASURER - Please see the job description below (taken from web site Schedule 11)
The County Assistant Treasurer shall deputise for the County
Treasurer when required and:
(a) Be Vice Chair of the Finance and General Purposes
Committee.
(b) Administer the Amenities Fund.
(c) Deal with all match income and expenditure.
(d) Be a member of the Emergency Committee.
(e) Administer County Mixed friendly matches and Mixed President’s matches.

A Notice of Updates has also been added to show the date of the most recent change to the Schedules.

COUNTY PRESIDENTS MATCHES

Each year the County Presidents are invited by some Clubs to play a match against the Club on their green. Our match Secretaries, Edgar and Sue, put these games in the County fixture list and a Presidential team made up of officers and invited rinks from Club fulfill the fixture. To be invited to play in a Club rink is an opportunity for the unsung heroes at each Club to be asked to play alongside the County president. The County is very grateful for these invites and is the guest of the Club on the day. A small charge is however made to those playing for the County in these matches which is an important part of the Bowls Devon income helping towards the cost of sending our representative teams to Leamington. Clubs may request an all male match, an all ladies match or a mixed match.

On behalf of the County Carol wrote to Clubs to ask if there were any who would like to host a Presidents’ match in 2019. If so Clubs were asked to contact Carol by the middle of August 2018 so that requests may be considered at a meeting to be held in early September.

The County appreciates these invitations.
